318 Lambton Quay
‘Timeless,’ ‘elegantly restrained’ and ‘classically 70s’ are just some ways 318 Lambton Quay has been described.
Whatever words you use, what’s clear is that our building has been a familiar part of the Wellington landscape for nearly fifty years.
The History
Constructed in 1974 and completed in 1978, 318 Lambton Quay is heralded as a classic example of 70s architecture blending in as much as it stands out.
Its elegant white façade and ability to transcend styles and fashions led the New Zealand Institute of Architects to award it the 2009 Wellington Architecture Award for Enduring Architecture.
It was originally built as the Bank of New South Wales headquarters before becoming known as The Westpac Building. Today Urban Hub is proud to call this Lambton Quay landmark home.
