Office Christmas Party Ideas

Covid-19 may have shaken things up in 2020, and even though we’ve come through the worst of it, Christmas may be a little different for many businesses. Budget constraints or other issues may prevent the usual big Christmas function this year, but that doesn’t mean the Christmas spirit isn’t alive and well.

Office co-workers celebrate Christmas together

Covid-19 may have shaken things up in 2020, and even though we’ve come through the worst of it, Christmas may be a little different for many businesses. Budget constraints or other issues may prevent the usual big Christmas function this year, but that doesn’t mean the Christmas spirit isn’t alive and well.

It’s been a tough year for so many people, and the holiday season gives us a chance to come together and reflect. It’s also a time to celebrate achievements through very trying times. So, don’t let a pandemic get in the way of a good time, because there’s still plenty of fun to be had this Christmas!

Create a whole day of Christmas at work

Most people enjoy the whole traditional Christmas day experience, so how about recreating that for a day in the office?

You could nominate a day leading up to Christmas where work is the furthest thing from your minds. To mimic the tradition of early morning gift opening, staff could arrive at the office and get straight into a Secret Santa gift exchange. You could even order in a nice spread of breakfast items to kick-start the day.

For a whole-office Christmas lunch, you could get some catering or even see if anybody wants to form a volunteer cooking team for the day. After that, treat the team to some kind of fun bonding event. It could be mini-golf, lawn bowls, or anything else that your team would like to get involved in.

Book a local restaurant for the evening

With restaurants opening back up post-Covid, a night out for dinner is the perfect way to celebrate. You could help out a local business by booking their venue for an evening, and you’d get your own fully-catered dining experience. Not only is it great for local businesses, but you can share a meal and drinks with your team and not have to lift a finger!

Still stuck apart? Try a fun Zoom party!

If you’ve still got teams working apart and are a bit restricted in the type of gatherings you can organise, why not consider a Zoom party? It’s not quite as interactive as the real thing, but you could still make an event of it. Perhaps even combine it with an awards and recognition evening, or even have a bit of fun with some less serious content being delivered.

Even better, you could do a Christmas Quiz Zoom call with work colleagues and see who really is the smartest in the room!

Hold a private cocktail party

Understanding that budgets might not allow for large functions this year, why not consider some celebratory drinks on a smaller scale? You can still hold a private cocktail party, either at your own office or even a hired venue. There are plenty of great places you could choose, such as us here at Urban Hub Serviced Offices. We’ve got a great bar here, with rooms available for booking and even a catering service. There’s also a great outdoor area where people can gather to share a drink and celebrate the year.

If you need to get away from the office but don’t want to put on a huge function, Urban Hub would be happy to talk to you about a catered event where you can relax and celebrate with colleagues. Contact us for more information today!
